Another day, another BMW special for the Japanese market. Following the recent launches of the X6 xDrive35i and 120i Coupe Performance Unlimited editions, BMW has released another limited production model for Japan, this time based on the Z4 hardtop roadster.
As its name suggests, the most prominent feature of the Z4 Silver Top edition is the Titanium Silver finish of the two-piece electric folding hardtop and exterior mirror caps, which create a contrast with the Black Sapphire paintjob of the body. Inside, the special edition model gets Kansas Coral Red Kansas leather seats and aluminum decorative trim.
The Z4 Silver Top is offered exclusively in sDrive23i guise, which translates to a 2.5-liter straight-six with 204-horsepower and 250Nm of torque, linked to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Only 15 cars are scheduled for production, with prices set at 5,590,000 Yen (about US$68,900 at today's exchange rates).
