2012 Peugeot 4008 SUV

Peugeot new crossover model measures 4,340mm long (295mm shorter than the 4,635 mm 4007), 1.800mm wide and 1.630mm tall, and has a 2,670mm long wheelbase.

The new Peugeot will be available with four engines, including two gasoline and two diesel units. The petrol range is comprised of a 1.6-liter unit delivering 116HP and 152 Nm (112 lb-ft), and a 2.0-liter with 150HP and 198Nm (146 lb-ft). Both engines are offered with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, with a CVT auto being an option on the 2.0-liter unit.

The HDi turbodiesels are a 1.6-liter unit with 112HP and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque and a 1.8-liter with 150HP and 300Nm (221.2 lb-ft) of torque, both exclusively available with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The 4008 comes in both front- and all-wheel drive derivatives. The AWD system has three modes: 2WD, in which power is directed only to the front wheels, 4WD and LOCK. In the last two, torque is directed to all four wheels and its distribution is controlled electronically according to the road conditions.

Peugeot said the new compact crossover will be sold in Europe only with the diesel engines and four-wheel drive, while other markets around the world will have access to front-wheel drive and gasoline editions as well.

2012 Interceptor GT

Now Healey Sports Cars Switzerland [HSCS], which owns the brand rights to Jensen Motors will re-launch the company with a spanking new car next year.

This model will be a modern version of the Interceptor, a four-seat GT that was produced from 1966 until 1976. Like its namesake from the 1960s, the 21st century Interceptor will have an aluminium chassis and bodywork.

The new Interceptor GT will revealed at the end of 2012 with deliveries to customers beginning in 2014. The company said it has already began work on the car.

2012 Honda CR-V Concept

The close-to-production concept previews the new looks of the 2012 CR-V that will receive its world premiere in final form at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November and go on sale in the United States before the end of the year.

The JDM model will follow in December at the Tokyo Motor Show, while European buyers will have to wait until fall of 2012.

We've already brought you the official design fillings of the production model, so it's safe to say that only a few things will change over the concept, namely the smaller alloy wheels and the aero kit, which includes the front and rear bumper trims, and side skirts.

"The 2012 CR-V Concept strongly hints at the more dynamic and refined look of the upcoming model," commented John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for American Honda. "As the best-selling SUV in each of the past four years, the 2012 CR-V promises to build on its highly successful formula with even more style, innovative features and higher fuel economy."

Honda added that the new CR-V will also feature a more fuel-efficient (four-cylinder) engine and reduced body weight, while it will also receive an all-new interior with "a more accommodating and spacious design".

Chrysler added that Hemi V8 Charger Pursuit also leads the sedan segment (namely GM's Chevrolet Caprice PPV and the Ford Taurus Interceptor) in terms of pure acceleration with the fastest 0-to-60mph (96km/h) and 0-to-100mph (160km/h) time:
  • 0-to-60 mph (5.83 sec)
  • 0-to-70 mph (7.38 sec)
  • 0-to-80 mph (9.18 sec)
  • 0-to-90 mph (11.43 sec)
  • 0-to-100 mph (13.65 sec)
The Detroit maker was also quick to point out that 292 horsepower Charger Pursuit V6 models averaged the fastest times for naturally aspirated (1:37.71) and E-85 capable(1:37.57) six-cylinder police cars with four wheels and a steering wheel.

2012 Audi S7 Sportback with 420HP Bi-Turbo V8

The force-fed eight-cylinder motor generates an output of 420-horsepower and a peak torque of 550 Nm (405.7 lb-ft), allowing the S7 to complete the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint in 4.9 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h (155mph).

The V8, which uses the German firm's “cylinder on demand” technology under part load, consumes on average an estimated 9.7 liters of fuel per 100 km (equal to 24.3mpg US).

A seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission and Audi's quattro permanent all-wheel drive system with a self-locking center differential and torque vectoring, transfer power to the ground.
There's also an optional sport differential that distributes the power in variable proportions between the rear wheels.

The S7 Sportback features an adaptive air suspension sport and the Audi drive select dynamics system, while braking is provided by large, internally ventilated disc brakes front and rear. Those willing to dig deep into their pockets can opt for the carbon fiber-ceramic discs.

The exterior changes are fairly subtle and include bespoke front grille and bumper designs, side sills, a different rear bumper that houses a diffuser and quad tail pipes plus 19-inch or optionally, 20-inch wheels.

As for the cabin, the S7 is fitted with sport seats dressed in combination of Pearl Nappa leather and Alcantara (a full leather treatment is optional), a three spoke steering wheel and unique decorative trim.

Audi said first deliveries of the S7 Sportback are scheduled to begin in spring of 2012.
